Earthmover launches data marketplace with Brightband, Dynamical.org, Zeus AI and other launch providers

On 22 January 2026, Earthmover announced the Earthmover Data Marketplace for weather, climate and Earth-observation data cubes in the open-source Icechunk format. Launch providers are Brightband, Dynamical.org, Zeus AI, Beyond Weather, Planette, Climate Uncertainty Lab and the Subseasonal Consortium, with reference forecasts from ECMWF and NOAA.

What happened

  • Announced 22 January 2026 by Ryan Abernathey, CEO and Co-founder of Earthmover.
  • Brightband is providing ECMWF forecast datasets including a low-latency IFS HRES product and a four-year archive of Machine-Learning Weather Prediction (MWLP) forecast.
  • Dynamical.org is contributing free and openly licensed ARCO data cubes including NOAA GEFS, GFS and HRRR forecast and analysis, plus an ECMWF IFS Ensemble forecast.
  • Zeus AI is providing its Helios Solar Irradiance forecast in archival and near-real-time configurations; Beyond Weather is providing a fine-tuned ECMWF AIFS model for 100m wind; Planette is providing a hybrid physics/AI seasonal forecast; Climate Uncertainty Lab is providing a bias-corrected downscaled climate projection ensemble; the Subseasonal Consortium is contributing multi-model sub-seasonal forecasts.
  • Providers retain their data under a decentralized, cloud-agnostic architecture and can offer free, open data or set custom pricing, licensing and SLAs.
  • Earthmover's platform, previously available only to paying customers, is being opened to anyone via app.earthmover.io/marketplace.
